What does a studio site cost?
Nothing to open or run. Generated Worlds keeps 20% of net revenue when a viewer pays, so it earns only when you do. Sending newsletters is part of the $39.99/month Studio plan; collecting sign-ups is free.
How do I get paid?
You keep 80% of net revenue from every episode viewers unlock. It is paid out through Stripe Connect once your balance reaches $25.
Can I use my own domain?
Yes. Buy a domain at any registrar and add the one DNS record your Domain tab shows. Until then your site lives at yourname.generatedworlds.com.
Do I need a Stripe account or a store?
You connect Stripe to receive payouts. You never build a checkout: viewers pay on your site and Generated Worlds handles the payment.
How is this different from Squarespace or Shopify?
Those are general website and store builders; you would add a video host and a way to charge per episode. A Generated Worlds studio is built for serialized video, so the site, the player and per-episode payments are one product.
Who can open a studio?
