She has spent years loving someone who never looked her way, certain that her feelings would always go unanswered. What she does not know is that someone else has been watching her all along, quietly choosing her when no one else did.
That hair clip is Ivy's, right? she loaned it to me she loaned it to you no wonder it looks old but you can't pull off new anyway so what's the difference is this dress Ivy's too no oh it's fine Mia what's wrong with wearing your sister's hand-me-downs no one's gonna laugh at you after all you're Mia and
isn't your date your sister's too she even has to share her sister's guy how pathetic seriously Mia Mia, is anything on you actually yours? The dress, the hair clip, they're all Ivy's. Even Ethan.
You think he'd stand here if Ivy didn't beg him? The laughter around us grew louder. People nearby turned to look. They looked from my face to Ethan.
Ethan glanced at Emily. He stayed silent, letting her mock me. My head was buzzing. I took a deep breath and walked toward the hallway.
At the corner, I leaned against the wall. I let my tears fall. Then I heard Ethan's voice behind the wall Ethan's friend teased him the whole night with Mia
You've got serious patience ivy asked me to I couldn't really say no ivy honestly You're a saint Ethan, but she seriously likes you haven't you noticed just look at the way. She looks at I know I know she likes me. I just don't get it. Why Mia why not ivy? Where'd she get the nerve to think I'd ever want her?
Honestly even standing on the same tile as her makes my skin crawl
