Unrecognizably Yours — The Arrivals Bouquet

Good. Actually, there's something I need to tell you when we meet. I smiled. What else could it be? Probably that the pictures were fake.

Okay. The second my plane landed, my phone started blowing up. Baby, where are you? I'm waiting at arrivals. Then he sent me a picture of a huge bouquet of roses.

Baby, I'm so nervous. What if you see me and don't like me? There was no person in the picture, just the flowers. For a guy using fake photos, he was weirdly romantic. My heart softened a little. Maybe I should just let it go.

Once we met, we could talk things out. Even if we only stayed friends, that was fine. These past three months, he really had treated me well. If I couldn't sleep, he would stay on the phone with me until he was barely awake.

Every holiday, and sometimes for no reason at all, he found an excuse to send me gifts. He remembered everything I liked. Even when my period was coming, he was a good person. So what if he was ugly?

I could live with that. I dragged my suitcase toward arrivals. From far away, I spotted the giant bouquet right away. It completely covered the guy holding it, but I could still see his build.

Tall, broad shoulders, narrow waist. Wait, did he actually have a great body too? No way. Definitely not Cookie really looked like those pictures.

Then what was wrong with him? The guy behind the flowers seemed to be getting impatient. He finally lowered them and looked around. I stopped dead.
