How Sponsored Product Placement Works in AI Short Drama
See how sponsored products appear in GW episode Shop. Connect a brand to a character moment, set scene timing and measure viewer interest.
By The Generated Worlds editors · Published
Sponsored product placement in an AI short drama connects a brand's product to a specific character moment. On Generated Worlds, the agreed product is pinned first in episode Shop during that moment and marked Brand partner. Viewers can open the product information and follow its store link while watching the series.
For creators, this turns a sponsorship into a defined placement with timing and product interaction data. It can support a brand you find through GW or a sponsor you already work with.
What a shop slot means on GW
A shop slot is the product opportunity associated with a scene. In Brand Deals, GW calls these opportunities moments. Each moment belongs to a series and episode, and may include a character, item description and image.
Once a collaboration is confirmed, you set the start and end times for the sponsored moment. These timings connect the product's Shop presentation to the scene.
A Shop placement does not change the underlying video. If the sponsor requires its exact jacket, bag or accessory to appear in the footage, include that requirement in the production scope and deliver the appropriate scene.
How GW finds moments
GW can surface items identified in episodes processed through Shop, including clothing, accessories, jewelry and makeup. Suggestions show the character, episode, timing and estimated on-screen duration.
The creator reviews a suggestion before opening it to brands. A detected item is an opportunity to consider, not proof that a sponsor has bought the scene.
You can also describe a moment yourself. This is useful for planning an upcoming episode around an agreed product without waiting for existing footage to be processed.
Set up the sponsored placement
- Open Brand deals in an eligible Scale or Established studio.
- Choose a suggested moment or describe your own.
- Find a brand through an offer, brief application or invitation, or choose My sponsor.
- Agree on the product, moment, price and delivery requirements.
- For GW-paid deals, wait for both confirmations and the advertiser's payment.
- Set the scene timings and publish the relevant episode.
For an existing sponsor, select its product link and moments through My sponsors. GW uses available suggested timings; manually described moments may need their timing completed.
Placement fees and affiliate commissions are different
| Revenue model | What determines payment |
|---|---|
| A placement paid through GW | The agreed deal amount, subject to delivery and the current 12% GW fee |
| Your own sponsor | Your direct agreement; GW does not process that sponsor payment or take a placement cut |
| An affiliate arrangement | A separate affiliate agreement and its qualifying actions |
A product card alone does not establish an affiliate commission. The agreed placement fee also does not depend on a guaranteed number of product purchases.
The studio subscription is separate. Brand Deals currently comes with Scale and Established; Scale is $499 a month.
What you can report to the sponsor
GW reports product presentations, product-page opens, saves, valid store clicks, and recorded attributed orders and sales. These describe the shopping activity associated with the placement.
An order count depends on conversion reporting being available. A store click is evidence of interest, not proof of a purchase.
Common questions
Can I use a scene that is already published
Yes. GW supports moments in existing episodes as well as moments you describe for upcoming episodes. Confirm the promised association with the brand.
Does this sell ownership of my character
A timed Shop placement is a commercial placement agreement. It does not by itself establish a sale of your character or permission to reuse it elsewhere.
Can I add my existing sponsor
Yes. Use My sponsors, add the product link, and select the moments where its product should be presented.
Does the viewer have to buy for a placement fee to be earned
The GW-paid placement workflow releases the creator allocation on the defined live-delivery conditions. Any performance-based compensation would need its own agreement.
