Love, Misfired — Ethan's Phone Call

Chloe angrily went to the balcony to call Lucas. Ethan didn't text me after what Chloe said. I kept typing and deleting my explanation. I finally hit send.

I'm sorry the guys on our team joked about us. so that's why I brought you water but I never wanted to throw you off like Chloe said I honestly wanted you to crush them then I should thank them thank them for what for giving me a chance to meet you

Thank you. Ethan, do you like me? The second I sent it, I regretted it. What if I'd completely misunderstood him? Before I could panic any longer, my phone rang. Ethan was calling.

Hello? I want you to hear it from me. Yes, Ava. I like you. It was true.

A few days later, it was time for the next skirmish. Carrying a bag of drinks, I walked past Lucas' sideline. Someone's working hard. People might think you're their team manager.

Hey Ava, here for Lucas again? You didn't have to. If Lucas doesn't want him, we'll take him.
