The Infidelity Curse — The Blackwood Trust Threat

Silence. Then Sienna pulled away from him and whispered, It's okay. I don't want to make this harder. Maybe I should just go with Grandpa.

Sienna. She swayed. Adrian grabbed her. Evelyn, I'm not asking you. I'm telling you. We're getting a divorce.

Evelyn. One month, I promise. The divorce won't go public. You'll still be Mrs. Blackburn as far as anyone knows.

Okay. I kept my voice soft. My other hand slipped into my pocket and dialed a number. I'm going to blow this up.

Mr. Blackwood? Mr. Blackwood? Are you here to file for divorce? You announced a new girlfriend yesterday. Is this because of the affair? There's been a misunderstanding. We're here for private business. Our marriage is completely fine.

Completely fine. Adrian echoed through his teeth. Then his phone rang. Adrian, if you really don't want me anymore, I don't know if I can keep going. Sienna, where are you?

You promised me. You said you'd give me a home. You said you'd leave her. I'm leaving. I'm doing it right now. He turned and grabbed my arm. Evelyn, we're going in. You're signing.

Now. The attorney slid the papers across the desk. Are you signing these documents of your own free will? I opened my mouth. Adrian's fingers dug into my shoulder.

Think about Noah and Lily. If you don't sign, I'll have my lawyers restructure every Blackwood Trust in the kids' names by tomorrow morning. Adrian, they're your children.
