It wasn't just some passing idea. It was the last bit of hope I had for our for our marriage. And with one sentence, he erased all of it. I stood there and stopped arguing. That was when I finally understood. It wasn't that the decorations didn't matter. I was the one who didn't matter.

Sophia liked another design. And just like that, Nico threw out all my work. If he could do that with our wedding, what would our marriage be like? Would she always come first? That night, I sat in my empty studio, smoothing out the creases in my sketch.

It was late when Leon showed up. He set some takeout on the desk. When I didn't say anything, he didn't push. Am I making too much of this?

Finally, I asked. Did you draw this? I nodded. How long did it take?

Two weeks. Then no, you're not. You just wanted to get it right. I nearly cried in front of him. But he didn't tell me to stop being upset, and he didn't say, it's just a wedding, let it go. He carefully set the sketch aside.

Hold onto it. You might need it someday. Someday? For who? I laughed. For someone who'll take it seriously.
