Bad Luck Looks Good on You — Episode 5

Fifteen years ago, he wasn't yet the Don the entire East Coast underworld feared. He had been nothing but a street thug. He found me lost on the street one night and brought me home. Not long after, I lost the wrong people.

I shattered both his legs. The doctor said he might never walk again. Six months after we fell in love, he was on his feet again. Then, he built an empire of his own.

Viorella claimed all of it was because of her. Fine. Believe whatever you want. Are you done with this tantrum, Victoria? If you want out, then get the hell out!

Tomorrow, I'll announce at the press conference, you are no longer my daughter! I'll leave right now. When I didn't beg or apologize the way I always had before, they all froze. I packed quickly, then headed for the door without a trace of reluctance.

Wait! Fiorella called after me. Fiorella hurried over and grabbed the handle of my suitcase. This is all my fault.

If it weren't for me, the wedding wouldn't have been cancelled, and Mom and Dad wouldn't be angry with you. Viteria, you stay. I'll go.

Then go. My mother immediately rushed to comfort her. Fiorella, what are you talking about? This is your home. You didn't do anything wrong. She did. You don't owe her anything.

Even though I had already decided to leave, the scene still made my eyes sting.
