Call Me Yours — Episode 3

Serves him right. Ditching his friends for some girl. How dare he skip my birthday party? Dominic didn't mean to miss it. His girlfriend was sick.

Who knows if she was really sick or just faking it. Your girlfriend hates me. She knows she can't beat our history together. If there were anything between us, Lila wouldn't even stand a chance.

Dominic, I've put up with her long enough for you. You better make it up to me or forget my forgiveness. Whatever you want. My time is all yours from now on.

Name it, and I'm there. Much better. I lingered by the door until the sales clerk approached, slipping a velvet box into my palm.

Miss Lila, your custom promise rings are ready. Anything else I can get you? No, thank you. I walked away without a word.

Back home, I fumbled open the shoe cabinet to change my shoes. An arm suddenly slipped around my waist from behind. Warm breath skimmed my neck. His deep, magnetic voice brushed my ear.

Baby, where have you been? I missed you. I had a follow-up at the hospital. Why didn't you tell me? I said I'd go with you. What if you tripped or got hurt?

I'm fine. The driver took me. Besides, I need to practice going out on my own. What did the doctor say? My recovery is slow.

His broad hands cradled my face. A tender kiss landed over my lashes. Don't worry, I'm here.
