Call Me Yours — Episode 2

Besides, he's my brother. What if Leela finds out? With Hubert handling it, she never will. She was stupid to begin with, now she's blind too.

How could she possibly figure it out? Even if she did, a few sweet words would bring her right back. She loves me too much. She could never leave me.

Please, can we stop talking about boring people and their stuff? You promised tonight was supposed to be about celebrating me. Don't ruin it. I knew that voice, Beatrice.

Dominic's childhood sweetheart. She was the only woman in their circle. Okay, princess. This jeweler just got a new high jewelry collection. Pick whatever you want tonight. It's on me.

That's more like it. Come on, Beatrice. Give Dominic a break. You went off sheets out of nowhere and came back just as fast. He rushed to see you and wrecked his car.

Now he's even ditched his girlfriend to be here. Stop giving him such a hard time. I stood outside the door, my limbs turning cold. I'd sensed Beatrice's hostility ever since Dominic and I started dating.

So I always kept my distance from his circle. Two months ago, my high fever wouldn't break. Dominic skipped the birthday party Beatrice had planned so carefully. She threw a fit and flew overseas without telling anyone.

Dominic had been worried ever since. The day of the crash, he was driving me out. He took a call mid-drive, lost control, and slammed into the guardrail. My head struck the window. The impact took my sight.

So that call was from Beatrice? Serves him right. Ditching his friends for some girl.
