The Wrong Girl — Episode 2

When I woke up, I was lying in the school infirmary. The teacher pointed at me and shouted, She bullied you so you tried to kill her? Did you ever think about why she targeted you?

Call your parents, now! I want to see what kind of trash raised someone like you. If they can't even show up, you're done here! A chill ran down my spine.

Mrs. Vaughn, are you sure you want me to call my dad? The moment I said it, a sharp slap echoed through the room. Sure, I'm damn sure! You little bitch, you dared to touch my daughter.

Get your parents down here on their knees, right now! Claire's father, Richard, slapped me so hard I hit the floor. Half my face burned. Ms. Vaughn acted like she didn't see a thing.

She turned to him, nodding, smiling, bent almost double. Mr. Whitmores, please, rest assured. The school will handle this seriously. We won't let her get away with it.

Then she rounded on me and screamed. Emma! Look what you've done to Claire! Call your parents and cover all medical expenses now!

I kept my head down. My nails cut my palms. I could taste blood. I said,

That's not what happened. Claire was the one who cornered me in the bathroom. She poured water on me. She tore my shirt. I only- Claire suddenly started crying. Dad, she's lying. I was just walking by and she shoved me down the stairs.

She's a scholarship kid. She's jealous. She's hated me for years. My eyes widened. You know that's not- Shut your mouth, Emma!
