Half the room was empty. Nobody was fighting for seats in here. Did this class seriously require seat-saving? It was film studies. The teacher usually played clips and then made us talk about them.

The second the screen lit up, my stomach dropped. It was another dog movie. I almost wanted to close my eyes right there, and I cry at everything. I ended up tearing up so hard in class it was embarrassing.

Meanwhile, everyone else was on their phones or half asleep. So obviously, I stood out. You're really emotionally engaged in this movie, aren't you? You're not watching? You're scared you're going to cry?

How did he know that? Then again, he was probably here last time too. Great. Even more embarrassing. Was it that obvious? It's fine. If you cry, you cry. I came prepared.
