Excellent! Bravo! We're running out of time. If this isn't perfect, we'll be cast out before the ceremony even starts. The mountain pass is blocked from fallen trees. The village stores are empty.

They beg for a portion of the castle's grain. They always beg. It's what they do, isn't it? If I give them grain today, they'll be back for meat tomorrow.

Tell them to tighten their belts. It builds character. They are starving, sire. Then they should have chosen a more fertile valley. Do not bore me with their poverty.
