The Star and the Wallflower — Episode 7

Hazel, is the crystal pendant in your jacket pocket glowing? Yours is glowing too. What color is it? Like, pulsing, right? Yeah, exact same.

Hazel, I swear, this thing has something to do with us switching bodies. You think this is the clue? Yeah. Hazel, listen, meet me at the school archives tomorrow morning. We'll look for information about this necklace.

When I arrived there, he was already waiting by the door. You wore that out? He looks up when he sees me. What's wrong with it?

I glance down at myself. Nothing. Let's go in. They split up, each taking a row of shelves. I flip through two pages and put it back, move to another section.

He crowds on the other side, going through files, then tosses them aside, stands up, walks over, and pulls out an old yearbook. The sunlight shifts across the floor. A distant bell chimes once.

This is all useless! He slams the book he's holding clued on the table. Let's try the storage room. I twist open a bottle of water and hand it to him.

Dust billows out as they dig through boxes. He reaches for a box on a high shelf, and the whole thing tips forward. I step over in one stride, one hand catching the bottom of the box and shoving it back onto the the other grabbing his arm and yanking him back.

Watch it. I let go of his arm and step back, half a step. Nothing here. Let's check the old classrooms. Yeah.

I turn and walk out. Neither of them mentions what just happened. Jace and I dig through separate piles. Suddenly, he pulls an old book out, and a yellowed piece of paper falls out.
