He stumbers backward, his shoulder slamming into the edge of the desk. The pain makes him flinch and yell. Then he lunges back at the mirror. He raised his hand and rubbed his face vagarously. It's Hazel. You're Jace, right?

What the hell is happening? Why am I you? I'm in your house right now. Do you get What did you do to me? Can you fucking calm down? I don't know what happened either. I woke up- Calm down? I look in the mirror and I see your face. You want me to calm down?

I don't even know who I am right now. How the hell am I supposed to have ideas? We just have to get through today first. The ice rink lights are bright. I stand in the middle of the ice, holding a hockey stick, a puck resting against my blade. Jace! The hell are you zoning out for? Pass it!

I dribble it twice and push forward. My stride is too long. My balance is off. The ball bounces off my foot and rolls out of The coach blows his whistle. Brother, what's wrong with you today? You're not in good form. I didn't respond.

He stepped out of the ice rink into the bright afternoon sun. Madison came over before I could walk Jace! Hey, I waited for you. You must be thirsty after practice. I'm good, thanks. Come on, it's just a drink.
