I exhaled and trailed right behind him. Finn knew the owner. He left me at a corner booth and disappeared. My phone rang. An unknown number, I answered. Sierra and Dylan were chatting on the line.
Dylan, why aren't you calling Ellie? Aren't you worried she actually left with I know her. She's a nerd. It was all a bluff. She's probably already asleep in her You seem pretty chill about it. Do you even care about her? Honestly, I never liked her that much anyway.
I hung up, my hands shaking with fury. Mostly because Dylan was right. I had been planning to just go back to my dorm and sleep. My chest felt so tight I could barely breathe.
Wait, miss, don't drink that. That's a special order. The bartender yelled, loud enough for half the bar to turn around. Put it on my tab.
I'll pay for it. But a few minutes later, I realized why he was panicking. The drink was spiked. By the time Finn found me, my brain was 99% gone.
Ellie, are you okay? He leaned in. His cold hand cupped my burning cheek. So cool. But even drugged out of my mind, I remembered he rejected me.
I pushed his hand away, slid off the barstool, and headed for the door. Where do you think you're going? I feel so hot. He'd helped me tonight. It wouldn't be right to force myself on him.
I looked him dead in the eye, emphasizing every word. Seriously? I'd sleep with anyone but you. Finn's face went completely dark.
