Apocalypse Cat: Survival in the End of the World — Episode 1

As a cat, I noticed zombies mimicking us. At first, they just shuffled. Now they even scratch doors.

My owner thinks home is safe. Until I saw Aunt Zhang next door, she turned just yesterday. Today she smiled at the peephole.

Worse still, I saw her bend down, pick up the cat toy, and wag it. Tap.

Another goo dripped on the balcony glass. I walked to the window, my tail twitching slightly. Smelly,

and not that bright. These rotting things on two legs, roamed this city for 2 months and 3 days. My owner blocked my view,

calling them disgusting, saying they'd give nightmares. He doesn't know, I've been watching for a while.

And what I see, is scarier than he'd guess. At first, just sluggish moves, gurgling like gasping for air.

Only numerous and fearless, nothing special otherwise. But then, things turned weird.

They started falling less. Still robotic, yet like humans, they dodge obstacles now.

As a cat, we're born observers, and learners too. It's in our nature.

So I realized fast: these stinking creatures, they're learning too. My owner treats me

like a clueless kitten, thinking I just eat, sleep, and stare into space. I never argue.

Humans always underestimate cats. Little Black, don't be scared. Mommy will protect you. Once we lock the door, we're safe.

He calls me Little Black because I'm all black, like a quiet shadow.
